Summer School – A New Centre of Excellence

Thursday February 8, 2018

Concord's Summer School has been listed as "a new Centre of Excellence" following a recent British Council inspection. Concord scored 11 'strengths' out of 15 categories and was joint first out of nine schools gaining the new Centre of Excellence status. The British Council inspection confirms that Concord’s Summer School is included in the 2018 ranking which has been described by Summer Course Director Kari Butler as a ‘huge achievement and a reflection of the hard work of our staff.’ Said Kari:  “Although the British Council inspection is primarily for the English programme, it looks at the school as a whole and we are now accredited for the teaching of English in the UK until 2022. “The certification gives a benchmark by which students, parents and agents can make an informed choice when deciding on a summer school. “Results from all British Council inspections are collated each and scored out of 15.  We are joint first having scored 11 strengths of the 15 last July.” Confirmation of the Centre of Excellence ranking has also been listed in the latest edition of 'El Gazette' - a renowned magazine for English language and international education. Kari added:  “El Gazette’s ranking system selects the top schools with the highest British Council inspection scores and Concord College is one of the very latest new Centres of Excellence. “We are now able to use the award of El Gazette Top 100 UK summer schools for 2018.”
