Teaching Vacancies

Teacher of Maths (0.8)

We wish to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic part-time Teacher of Mathematics from September 2024.

The successful candidate will have a high quality degree in a Mathematics-related subject and must be capable of teaching Mathematics from GCSE through to A level.  A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the College is expected.

We offer a generous remuneration package which includes a salary significantly above Main Scale, duty payments, complimentary lunch, participation in the Aviva Pension Trust for Independent Schools and private health insurance.

Support Vacancies

Plumbing & Heating Engineer

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and experienced Plumbing & Heating Engineer who will assist in the proactive maintenance and development of the various heating systems across the Estate. The candidate will use their knowledge and skills to help plan, carry out and prioritise large or small-scale installation / rectification works whilst also minimising any disruption to the College’s operations. The successful candidate will be proactive and adaptable. A full clean driving licence is essential, along with a NVQ Level 3 Plumbing qualification– or proven equivalent experience.

Working hours are 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday with daily unpaid breaks totalling one hour 30 minutes for lunch and two 15-minute tea breaks (37.5 hours per week).

The salary will be £31,000 to £34,000 per annum, dependant on skills and experience. Other benefits will include a defined contribution pension scheme, income protection and life assurance schemes.

Domestic Services Supervisor

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Domestic Services Supervisor to work in our Domestic Services Department. This is a new role. The post holder will assist the Domestic Services Manager in ensuring that the College provides and maintains first-class domestic services, including a high standard of cleanliness in all areas of the College and an efficient laundry service.  The Domestic Services Supervisor will provide support and guidance to the team of domestic staff across all areas of the College with the ability to provide a hands-on approach where required. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, proven supervisory skills and the ability to motivate a team. Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach will be essential.

Working hours are 7am to 3.45pm Monday to Friday with daily unpaid breaks totalling 45 minutes (30 minutes for lunch and one 15-minute tea break (40 hours per week).

The salary will be £28,000 to £29,500 per annum, dependant on skills and experience. Other benefits will include a defined contribution pension scheme, income protection and life assurance schemes.

College Nurse (full-time/part-time)

We currently have a vacancy for a full-time/part-time permanent nurse to work as part of a team of seven nurses and two healthcare assistants who assist in promoting health and wellbeing and providing the highest possible standard of medical and pastoral care for our students.

Hours worked will be on a rota basis including evenings, working 49.5 weeks per annum. We are flexible regarding the number of hours worked and these can be discussed further at interview.

The successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to and care for young people of all nationalities and religions.  A full clean driving licence is essential, along with a recognised nursing qualification and current registration on sub part 1 or 2 with the Nursing & Midwifery Council.

Assistant Librarian

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Librarian to assist in the day-to-day running of the busy College library and its ICT facilities, including the Oliver library management system.

The successful candidate will be a graduate, ideally with a qualification in librarianship, and will have experience of the tasks necessary for the smooth operation of a school library together with possessing excellent communication and IT skills.

Normal hours of work will be 37.5 per week during term time and 35 per week during College holiday periods. Some flexibility in working arrangements is required.

Concord College International School Malaysia

Concord College International School Malaysia (CCIS) will open in September 2024. It is a new boarding British International school for students aged 5 to 18 following in the successful footsteps of our sister school, Concord College, UK. 

CCIS will be offering a broad and balanced education based on the UK National Curriculum for Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form (A-level). CCIS will have a purpose-built campus which offers excellent teaching and age-appropriate facilities to ensure every student has a sure pathway to success.

Shanghai Concord Bilingual Schools

Shanghai Concord Bilingual School (SCBS) Puxi was the first bilingual private school in the Huangpu District, the heart of Shanghai. The school opened its doors in September 2017 to Middle and High School students with the Primary School following in September 2018. Student numbers have expanded and the Primary School is now situated on its own separate site.

The aim of the school is to create a place of learning where students can flourish in a supportive atmosphere of harmony, trust, and decency; whilst committed to striving for academic excellence at every level. The courses offered incorporate the traditional Chinese curriculum in a bilingual environment, whilst also offering students IGCSE and A levels, with the intention of preparing students for entry into the top universities throughout the world.

In September 2023 SCBS Pudong opened on a 10 acre campus with impressive state of the art facilities. The education at the school is modelled on its sister school SCBS Puxi. SCBS Pudong also offers boarding for High School students (Grades 10-12).
