Receptionist

We have a vacancy within our Administration team to undertake reception duties which will include handling telephone enquiries and looking after visitors in a professional, friendly and helpful manner. The postholder will be responsible for the smooth operation of the college’s front office whilst performing key reception functions including answering phones and greeting visitors. The postholder will also be responsible for monitoring and responding to email enquiries and providing administrative support to a number of key staff whilst providing callers, visitors, students and staff with exceptional customer service.

The successful candidate will be well-presented, have excellent communication skills and IT competency, with good attention to detail. An organised and proactive approach, together with the ability to meet deadlines and work effectively as part of a team, are essential requirements. Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.45am to 5pm with an unpaid lunch break of one hour duration each day (total 36.25 hours per week).

Carpenter

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and experienced Carpenter who will assist in the maintenance and development of the estate. Carpentry projects typically undertaken range from interior renovation / refurbishments of kitchens, bedrooms & bathrooms to change of layouts, wet rooms, disabled adaptions, downstairs WC’s, Window installation and smaller one-off jobs.

Teamwork and initiative will be vital, as will the ability to quickly grasp the complexities of boarding school life and the needs of individuals and groups within this community. The capacity to communicate well at all levels will be essential, as will the ability to quickly gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of others.

Our Catering team provide an efficient, friendly service in a vibrant and busy environment, serving breakfast, lunch and supper, plus morning and afternoon refreshments, to our 600 students and 200 staff.  Our menus are interesting and varied, catering for the tastes of our multi-national community. We currently have a vacancy for a Dining Room Assistant (on rota) to join our existing team, providing high standards of service and cleanliness in our servery and dining rooms.  Hours of work will be 35 hours per week, on a rota basis.

Term time only would also be considered.

Weekend Duty Porter

Weekend Duty Porters are responsible for the security of the campus and the supervision and pastoral care of the students. This role includes registering students at specified times of the day, driving college vehicles to locations and when external medical help is needed, acting Duty Fire Officer and a wide variety of other duties.

The successful candidate will be knowledgeable, personable and possess a real drive to deliver the best possible pastoral care to our students. A full clean driving licence is essential for this post.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to and promote the College’s ethos of dedication, decency, trust and mutual respect.

Working hours are 13 hours per week, Saturday 1.30pm-8pm & Sunday 2.15pm-9.45pm.

Domestic Assistant

Our Domestic Assistants play a key role in the day-to-day care of our facilities, maintaining the high standards that are required in cleanliness and hygiene for the benefit of all students, staff and visitors. Each team member takes responsibility for a specific area, classrooms, boarding residences, laundry, offices etc to aid motivation and increase job satisfaction, and everyone works under the care and guidance of our Domestic Services Manager. We currently have the following vacancies for a Domestic Assistant:-

  • 7am -3.45pm Monday – Friday (full time – 40 hours per week)
  • 7am – 1.20pm Thursday & Friday, 8am – 2.30pm Saturday (part time – 18 hours per week)

We currently have a vacancy for a Kitchen Assistant to work as part of our Catering team who provide an efficient, friendly service in a vibrant and busy environment, serving breakfast, lunch and supper plus morning and afternoon refreshments. Our menus are interesting and varied, catering for the tastes of our multi-national community. The post holder will provide support in the preparation, presentation and serving of food. Hours of work will be 35 per week on a rota basis, which will include some evening and weekend cover.

Concord College International School Malaysia

Concord College International School Malaysia (CCIS) will open in September 2024. It is a new boarding British International school for students aged 5 to 18 following in the successful footsteps of our sister school, Concord College, UK. 

CCIS will be offering a broad and balanced education based on the UK National Curriculum for Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form (A-level). CCIS will have a purpose-built campus which offers excellent teaching and age-appropriate facilities to ensure every student has a sure pathway to success.

Shanghai Concord Bilingual Schools

Shanghai Concord Bilingual School (SCBS) Puxi was the first bilingual private school in the Huangpu District, the heart of Shanghai. The school opened its doors in September 2017 to Middle and High School students with the Primary School following in September 2018. Student numbers have expanded and the Primary School is now situated on its own separate site.

The aim of the school is to create a place of learning where students can flourish in a supportive atmosphere of harmony, trust, and decency; whilst committed to striving for academic excellence at every level. The courses offered incorporate the traditional Chinese curriculum in a bilingual environment, whilst also offering students IGCSE and A levels, with the intention of preparing students for entry into the top universities throughout the world.

In September 2023 SCBS Pudong opened on a 10 acre campus with impressive state of the art facilities. The education at the school is modelled on its sister school SCBS Puxi. SCBS Pudong also offers boarding for High School students (Grades 10-12).
