New York 2018

I had never been to New York before and, surprisingly, within the span of three days I got a taste of a New Yorker’s life.

We visited Times Square, the Central Park, Upper East Side, Lower East Side, One World Trade Centre, Oculus, Grand Central Station and more. And, for any musical lovers out there, we even went to see a Broadway show called “Wicked”.

Besides this, the trip was culturally enriching as we visited the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the MET, highly regarded as two of the most prestigious art galleries in the world. Also, on the subject of art, we took part in a Graffiti Workshop on our last day and we learned about how the culture of Street Art started.

It was a great trip with a variety of exciting activities; it was fun for everyone and enabled us to enjoy a taste of the ‘American Lifestyle’. Between upper and lower school students, I believe there was about 20 of us – some of whom, I was only acquainted with before New York. However, at the end of this amazing adventure I made some fantastic new friends, who ultimately made the experience even better.

Even though the New York trip is primarily an Art trip, you learn about so much more. I highly recommend it to all Concord Students – studying Art or not! All 20 of us had an unforgettable time.
