Form 5 Arthog Outdoor Activities

Over the weekend, I went on the Arthog trip hosted by Mr Brown, I was quite relieved when it was announced it was back on after a cancellation the day before. I was most excited. The thing I enjoyed most about the weekend was the gorge walking, as it was scenic and challenging. The swimming in the ocean afterwards made it peaceful! I also enjoyed the natural waterslide although it was very cold! The centre was very welcoming and I played lots of table tennis. It was a shame that it was only a small trip as I would have loved to do more activities. But we were rewarded with McDonald’s on the way back. So a very good weekend away!

My highlight of the Arthog trip was gorge walking. Our group put on waterproofs, driving to the place. We walked down a small dirt path and reached a stream with rushing water, boulders and stones covering the surface. Walking in, it was freezing. Our group scrambled down the stream and over rocks in our path. Water pushed past us as we waded in the water and slid down boulders, but we soon made it through to the beach below. We also climbed up and went to the other side of the road, where there was another set of rocks and a narrow stream of fast-flowing water, and we took turns sliding in the current as it pulled us down quickly. I enjoyed climbing over the different rocks and sliding down the water at the end.
