Macmillan Coffee Morning 2018

On 28th September, Concord College participated in “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” in the Dining Hall during break time. It’s a fundraising event initiated by Macmillan Cancer Support, with the goal of helping those with cancer to live a life as fully as they can. In Concord, the event is run annually by Teresa House. We are in charge of organising the event, baking and then selling the food to other members of the college. As the Teresa House Captain, I was actively involved in helping out. Participating members spent the days leading up to this event baking scrumptious desserts of all kinds – muffins, chocolate cakes, cookies, flapjacks, gooey brownies – you name it, we baked it! We were also kindly sponsored by Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, who provided us with drool-worthy doughnuts to sell. Through this annual event, we hope to raise awareness that those living with cancer should be treated as equally as anyone else, rather than merely patients, and they are deserving of every bit of help we are capable of providing.
