Teaching Vacancies

Teacher of Economics

We wish to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic full-time Teacher of Economics on a permanent basis from September 2024 or January 2025.

The successful candidate will have the ability to teach Economics to both GCSE and A level students and help support those applying for Economics and related courses at university. A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the College is expected. Applications from newly qualified teachers will be considered.

We offer a generous remuneration package which includes a salary significantly above Main Scale, duty payments, complimentary lunch, participation in the Aviva Pension Trust for Independent Schools and private health insurance.

Domestic Assistant

Our Domestic Assistants play a key role in the day-to-day care of our facilities, maintaining the high standards that are required in cleanliness and hygiene for the benefit of all students, staff and visitors. Each team member takes responsibility for a specific area, classrooms, boarding residences, laundry, offices etc to aid motivation and increase job satisfaction, and everyone works under the care and guidance of our Domestic Services Manager. We currently have a vacancy for a Domestic Assistant, 7am-1pm Monday to Friday (30 hours per week).

Kitchen Assistant

We currently have a vacancy for a Kitchen Assistant to work as part of our Catering team who provide an efficient, friendly service in a vibrant and busy environment, serving breakfast, lunch and supper plus morning and afternoon refreshments. Our menus are interesting and varied, catering for the tastes of our multi-national community. The post holder will provide support in the preparation, presentation and serving of food. Hours of work will be 35 per week on a rota basis, which will include some evening and weekend cover.

In addition to a competitive salary, other benefits include the provision of lunch when on duty, a defined contribution pension scheme, income protection and life assurance schemes.

Domestic Services Supervisor

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Domestic Services Supervisor to work in our Domestic Services Department. This is a new role. The post holder will assist the Domestic Services Manager in ensuring that the College provides and maintains first-class domestic services, including a high standard of cleanliness in all areas of the College and an efficient laundry service.  The Domestic Services Supervisor will provide support and guidance to the team of domestic staff across all areas of the College with the ability to provide a hands-on approach where required. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, proven supervisory skills and the ability to motivate a team. Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach will be essential.

Working hours are 7am to 3.45pm Monday to Friday with daily unpaid breaks totalling 45 minutes (30 minutes for lunch and one 15-minute tea break (40 hours per week).

The salary will be £28,000 to £29,500 per annum, dependant on skills and experience. Other benefits will include a defined contribution pension scheme, income protection and life assurance schemes.

Concord College International School Malaysia

Concord College International School Malaysia (CCIS) will open in September 2024. It is a new boarding British International school for students aged 5 to 18 following in the successful footsteps of our sister school, Concord College, UK. 

CCIS will be offering a broad and balanced education based on the UK National Curriculum for Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form (A-level). CCIS will have a purpose-built campus which offers excellent teaching and age-appropriate facilities to ensure every student has a sure pathway to success.

Shanghai Concord Bilingual Schools

Shanghai Concord Bilingual School (SCBS) Puxi was the first bilingual private school in the Huangpu District, the heart of Shanghai. The school opened its doors in September 2017 to Middle and High School students with the Primary School following in September 2018. Student numbers have expanded and the Primary School is now situated on its own separate site.

The aim of the school is to create a place of learning where students can flourish in a supportive atmosphere of harmony, trust, and decency; whilst committed to striving for academic excellence at every level. The courses offered incorporate the traditional Chinese curriculum in a bilingual environment, whilst also offering students IGCSE and A levels, with the intention of preparing students for entry into the top universities throughout the world.

In September 2023 SCBS Pudong opened on a 10 acre campus with impressive state of the art facilities. The education at the school is modelled on its sister school SCBS Puxi. SCBS Pudong also offers boarding for High School students (Grades 10-12).
