Prefect Games 2023

The Prefect Games were recently held as one of the highlights of Concord’s induction programme for new students. A staple of every Concord induction, the prefects, led by Head Prefects Gareth and Vidhi, organised team-building and icebreaker games to help the new 6.1 students to settle in with their peers. It is a delight every year, and this year was no exception.

For new 6.1 students, there was plenty of fun to be had, whether it was chasing peers in a game of ‘Duck, Duck, Goose’, working together to communicate in a game of ‘Chinese whispers’, or simply attacking peers with pool noodles. The grand finale saw the return of a Concord tradition: the high-five game, in which students from all year groups lined up the walls of the sports hall and each student got a moment in the spotlight to run around the sports hall and high-five all the other students. Lastly, the night ended with an impromptu disco of the song ‘Good Time’ (aptly named for the occasion) in which prefects, returning and new students all danced together, united in the spirit of the moment. It was a refreshing reminder of the sense of community that Concord can bring.
