U18 Football Northern Group Cup Winners

Concord’s U18 boys football team beat Oswestry School to claim the Society of Heads Northern Group Cup title for the first time ever.

The boys travelled to Bala Town FC for the final which was played in glorious spring sunshine in front of a small but enthusiastic crowd of supporters.

After falling behind in the first half, Irvin levelled the score before half time. In an action-packed match goalkeeper Adlil saved a second-half penalty to keep the scores level. With the game a tie at full time, the exhausted teams faced extra time. The additional minutes failed to yield a decisive goal and so the match went to penalties.

In a nail biting finale to an incredible afternoon, Ibiye, Jaden, Kai and captain, Fuad all scored their penalties whilst Adil in goal saved his second vital penalty for Concord to win the shoot-out 4:3.
