Silver Medal at the National Cross Country Relays
On Saturday 5th November, Concord College’s 6.2 student, Beth, competed in the English National Cross Country Relay Championships at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield.
Each competition team was comprised of three runners, who successively completed a 2.5km lap. Beth ran the final leg for her team, at the start of which, they were in 4th place. Beth needed to overtake at least one person ahead of her for her team to win a medal.
Beth completed her lap in 9:25, during which she caught up with and pulled away from two runners in front of her. This allowed her to finish in 2nd place, earning herself and her team a Silver medal. Beth thoroughly enjoyed the event: “The hilly course really suited me, and I feel that we were very consistent as a team. I look forward to us hopefully winning one place higher next year”.
