Legends and Dreams

Preparations for a new production from Concord College are well under way with groups rehearsing their musical, dance and drama pieces for the Winter Showcase.

A Concord tradition, the Showcase is created by Concord’s students themselves with expert guidance from staff and brings together elements of traditional and contemporary culture from around the world.

The College’s different national and regional societies each create their own elements based on a central theme, this year “Legends and Dreams” and the whole is carefully woven together with more collaborations, music and drama.

Head of Drama, Miss Orlagh Russel is looking forward to the show: “After a two-year break from the Winter Showcase it is a pleasure to see all our students busy rehearsing their pieces based upon the theme of Legends and Dreams.

“From String ensembles to Chinese dragons, the Morris Building is once again alive with the sound of creativity and performance. With a little over 5 weeks to go, students are busy finalising dances, songs and spoken word, as well as organising those all-important costumes!”

The show will be performed at Theatre Severn, in Shrewsbury on Saturday November 19th. Tickets are available from Theatre Severn and proceeds will all go to charity.
