TEACHING VACANCIES

 

TEACHER OF SPANISH & FRENCH (January 2022)

We wish to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic full-time teacher of Spanish & French on a permanent basis from January 2022.

The successful candidate will be capable of teaching Spanish to A level and French to GCSE level. Preparing students for all aspects of GCSE & A level examinations will be required. A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the College is expected. Applications from newly qualified teachers will be considered.

We offer a generous remuneration package which includes a salary significantly above Main Scale, a personal tutor allowance, duty payments, free meals, participation in the Teachers’ Pension Scheme and private health insurance.

OTHER VACANCIES

 

SPORTS ASSISTANT/COACH – (CASUAL HOURS)

We wish to appoint an additional member of staff to join our Sports department to assist with the smooth running of the sports halls and to provide sporting activities for students.  Ideally we are looking for someone with coaching qualifications or relevant experience in one or more of the following: tennis, personal training or gym supervision, cricket or football.  You will be accompanying students to fixtures so the confidence and willingness to drive a minibus will therefore be essential.

The sports hall is open seven days per week until 10pm and flexibility will be required to cover the shifts on a casual basis.  Currently there are approximately 15 hours per week available, mainly during afternoons, early evenings and weekends.  Due to the casual nature of the role, however, there will be no set or standard hours of work nor will there be a guaranteed minimum number of hours of work.

A competitive hourly rate of pay is offered for this post, dependent on qualifications and experience.

SENIOR COLLEGE NURSE – (FULL TIME)

We wish to appoint a Senior College Nurse to lead and work as part of a team of seven nurses and four  healthcare assistants who assist in promoting health and wellbeing and providing the highest possible standard of medical and pastoral care for our students.

We are seeking a registered nurse with a nursing degree and current registration on sub part 1 or 2 with the Nursing & Midwifery Council.  Experience in both primary care and secondary care with skills in the treatment of minor injuries and illnesses are essential.   Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to, communicate with and care for young people of all nationalities and religions are fundamental, as are strong leadership skills and the ability to deliver a complete medical service to very high standards.  Significant experience at management/supervisory level is essential plus experience of boarding school nursing or children’s nursing is desirable.  A full clean driving licence is also essential.

RECEPTIONIST/ADMINISTRATOR – (maternity cover contract)

We are seeking a Receptionist/Administrator, on a fixed term basis, who will undertake Reception duties, which will include handling telephone enquiries and looking after visitors in a professional, friendly and helpful manner.  The post holder will also provide administrative support to the Principal’s PA, senior staff, teachers and clerical staff.

The successful candidate will be well-presented, have excellent communication skills and IT competency, with good attention to detail.  An organised and proactive approach, together with the ability to meet deadlines and work effectively as part of a team, are essential requirements.  Experience of SIMS.net would be an advantage, although it is not essential.  Hours of work will be 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (total: 35 working hours each week) with an anticipated start date of early/mid-November 2021.

DOMESTIC ASSISTANTS

Our Domestic Assistants play a key role in the day-to-day care of our facilities, maintaining the high standards that are required in cleanliness and hygiene for the benefit of all students, staff and visitors.  Each team member takes responsibility for a specific area, to aid motivation and increase job satisfaction, and everyone works under the care and guidance of our Domestic Services Manager and Assistant.  We currently have vacancies for Domestic Assistants working full-time and part-time, with various days and hours of work available.  Some posts include weekend working.

DINING ROOM ASSISTANTS

Our Catering team provide an efficient, friendly service in a vibrant and busy environment, serving breakfast, lunch and supper plus morning and afternoon refreshments to our 600 students and 250 staff.  Our menus are interesting and varied, catering for the tastes of our multi-national community.  We currently have vacancies for Dining Room Assistants to provide high standards of service and cleanliness in our servery and dining rooms.   Hours of work include full time, part-time and term time only.  Some posts include evening and weekend working.

DOMESTIC MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT (fixed term contract – 6 months)

We are seeking a Domestic Maintenance Assistant, on a fixed term basis (6 months) to join our Domestic Services team. Our Domestic Maintenance Assistants play a key role in the day-to-day care of our facilities, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and efficient maintenance of College property and premises for the benefit of all students, staff and visitors. This is a varied position and is physically demanding; it requires the lifting and carrying of heavy items, such as laundry bags and furniture, on a daily basis.  A full clean driving licence is, however, required.  Hours of work will be 8am – 4.15pm Monday to Friday (37.5 working hours per week, excluding breaks).

Shanghai Concord Bilingual School

Shanghai Concord Bilingual School (“the School”) is the first bilingual private school in the Huangpu District, the heart of Shanghai.

The School opened its doors in September 2017 to students for Grade 6 and 10, Primary school for Grade 1 and 2 in September 2018. Currently, the School has over 500 students in total. Every year, the School enrolls students for Grades 1, 6 and 10.

The School is being developed in association with its prestigious sister school, Concord College (UK) a renowned international college whose academic excellence places it at the very top of the UK examination league tables. Concord College (UK) is lending its considerable experience and expertise in support of this venture.

The aim of the School is to create a place of learning where students can flourish in a supportive atmosphere of harmony, trust and decency; whilst committed to striving for academic excellence at every level.

The courses offered incorporate the traditional Chinese curriculum in a bilingual environment, whilst also offering students IGCSE and A levels, with the intention of preparing students for entry into the top universities throughout the world.

The School is expanding quickly. The Primary will move to a dedicated site 10 minutes walking distance from the main site of the School, before the 2020-2021 academic year. The School will have 300 pupils from Grade 1 to 4 in the 2020-2021 academic year.
