Teacher of Mathematics

Academic achievement at Concord College is exceptional.  During 2022, students achieved 89% 7-9 (A*/A) at GCSE and 81% A*/A at A level.  We are also delighted that 86 students have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge over the last five years.

We wish to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic full-time Teacher of Mathematics from September 2023.

The successful candidate will have a high quality degree in a Mathematics-related subject and must be capable of teaching Mathematics from GCSE through to A level. A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the College is expected.

We offer a generous remuneration package which includes a salary significantly above Main Scale, a personal tutor allowance, duty payments, free meals, Teachers’ Pensions  and private health insurance.

Teacher of English

We wish to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of English from September 2023.

The successful candidate will be capable of teaching English to exam groups across the age and ability range including IGCSE English Language and English Literature and A Level English Language and Literature. Lead Boarding Parent (Female)

As a Lead Boarding Parent for Broadlands (Upper School), the post holder will take responsibility for the boarding residence and carry out residential duties to ensure the pastoral well-being and academic progress of boarders.  Lead Boarding Parents carry out wake-up duties six days each week (Monday – Saturday) and evening room checks, three evenings each week (Sunday plus 2 other nights).   Lead Boarding Parents shall also serve on the late-night rota for Saturday nights.  Staff accommodation will be provided.

Senior College Nurse

We wish to appoint a Senior College Nurse to lead and work as part of a team of seven nurses and three healthcare assistants who assist in promoting health and wellbeing and providing the highest possible standard of medical and pastoral care for our students.

We are seeking a registered nurse with a nursing degree and current registration on sub part 1 or 2 with the Nursing & Midwifery Council.  Experience in both primary care and secondary care with skills in the treatment of minor injuries and illnesses are essential.   Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to, communicate with and care for young people of all nationalities and religions are fundamental, as are strong leadership skills and the ability to deliver a complete medical service to very high standards.  Experience at management/supervisory level is essential plus experience of boarding school nursing or children’s nursing is desirable.  A full clean driving licence is also essential.

Salary within NHS Band 6 /7, dependent on skills, experience and qualifications.  Working hours will be in accordance with the published rota.  Hours are likely to be an average of 37.5 per week, calculated over a 4-week period and will include attendance on some weekends and during College holidays.

Domestic Maintenance Assistant

We are seeking a Domestic Maintenance Assistant, to join our Domestic Services team. Our Domestic Maintenance Assistants play a key role in the day-to-day care of our facilities, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and efficient maintenance of College property and premises for the benefit of all students, staff and visitors. This is a varied position and is physically demanding; it requires the lifting and carrying of heavy items, such as laundry bags and furniture, on a daily basis.  A full clean driving licence is required for this role.  Hours of work will be 8am – 4.15pm Monday to Friday (37.5 working hours per week, excluding breaks).

KITCHEN ASSISTANT

Our Catering team provide an efficient, friendly service in a vibrant and busy environment, serving breakfast, lunch and supper plus morning and afternoon refreshments.  Our menus are interesting and varied, catering for the tastes of our multi-national community.  We currently have a vacancy for a Kitchen Assistant to provide support in the preparation, presentation and serving of food.  Hours of work will be 35 per week on a rota basis, which will include some evening and weekend cover.

DOMESTIC ASSISTANTS

Our Domestic Assistants play a key role in the day-to-day care of our facilities, maintaining the high standards that are required in cleanliness and hygiene for the benefit of all students, staff and visitors.  Each team member takes responsibility for a specific area, to aid motivation and increase job satisfaction, and everyone works under the care and guidance of our Domestic Services Manager and Assistant.  We currently have vacancies for Domestic Assistants working full-time and part-time, with various days and hours of work available.  Some posts include weekend working.

Shanghai Concord Bilingual School

Shanghai Concord Bilingual School (“the School”) is the first bilingual private school in the Huangpu District, the heart of Shanghai.

The School opened its doors in September 2017 to students for Grade 6 and 10, Primary school for Grade 1 and 2 in September 2018. Currently, the School has over 500 students in total. Every year, the School enrolls students for Grades 1, 6 and 10.

The School is being developed in association with its prestigious sister school, Concord College (UK) a renowned international college whose academic excellence places it at the very top of the UK examination league tables. Concord College (UK) is lending its considerable experience and expertise in support of this venture.

The aim of the School is to create a place of learning where students can flourish in a supportive atmosphere of harmony, trust and decency; whilst committed to striving for academic excellence at every level.

The courses offered incorporate the traditional Chinese curriculum in a bilingual environment, whilst also offering students IGCSE and A levels, with the intention of preparing students for entry into the top universities throughout the world.

The School is expanding quickly. The Primary will move to a dedicated site 10 minutes walking distance from the main site of the School, before the 2020-2021 academic year. The School will have 300 pupils from Grade 1 to 4 in the 2020-2021 academic year.
