TEACHING VACANCIES

TEACHER OF SPANISH & FRENCH – (FIXED-TERM CONTRACT)

We wish to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic full-time Teacher of Spanish & French on a fixed-term contract basis from September 2021 to December 2021.

The successful candidate will be capable of teaching Spanish & French to GCSE/A level. Preparing students for all aspects of GCSE & A level examinations will be required. A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the College is expected. Applications from newly qualified teachers will be considered.  There is a possibility that the role may become permanent for the right candidate.

We offer a generous remuneration package which includes a salary significantly above Main Scale, a personal tutor allowance, duty payments, free meals, Teachers’ Pensions and private health insurance.

ASSISTANT BURSAR (FINANCE & PROCUREMENT)

We are seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic Assistant Bursar who will have responsibility for finance and procurement, together with data protection and policies which relate to non-academic/non-pastoral areas. The post holder must have extensive experience in a professional finance function, ideally with knowledge of charity/not for profit accounting and statutory reporting.  The successful candidate will report to the Bursar and will be responsible for first line management of the finance department, providing effective leadership, ensuring the integrity of all accounting procedures and records and driving best practice.  Proven ability in business management will be essential, ideally in an education setting.

The successful candidate will be approachable, respectful, act with integrity and diplomacy and possess strong leadership skills with the ability to forge and maintain successful professional relationships.  Excellent IT skills, with enhanced skills in Excel and Word and in financial modelling, are also essential for the post.

ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

We are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant within our Accounts Department.  We require a skilled and experienced accounts practitioner, preferably qualified to AAT level 3/4, with transferable skills to quickly adapt to our financial systems. Proven attention to detail, use of Excel to advanced level and the ability to work to tight deadlines in a busy environment are essential requirements.

Hours of work will be 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.

DOMESTIC MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

Our Domestic Maintenance Assistants play a key role in the day-to-day care of our facilities, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and efficient maintenance of College property and premises for the benefit of all students, staff and visitors. Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8am – 4.15 pm Monday to Friday (inclusive) (total: 37.5 working hours per week, excluding breaks).  Previous experience in a similar role would be helpful, although not essential.  A full clean driving licence is, however, required.  Please refer to the job description for a detailed list of duties.

COLLEGE NURSE (PART TIME) 

We are seeking a College Nurse to work as part of a team of six nurses and five healthcare assistants who assist in promoting health and wellbeing and providing the highest possible standard of medical and pastoral care for our students.  The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to and care for young people of all nationalities and religions.

A full clean driving licence is essential, along with a recognised nursing qualification and current registration on sub part 1 or 2 with the Nursing & Midwifery Council. Working hours will be an average of 15 per week on a rota basis including evenings, working 49.5 weeks per annum. In addition to a competitive salary, other benefits will include a defined contribution pension scheme, income protection and life assurance schemes.

DINING ROOM ASSISTANT

We are recruiting for part-time Dining Room Assistants and have a number of shifts available:

5.00 pm – 8.00 pm Monday to Friday
9.00 am – 2.00 pm and 5.00 pm – 7.00 pm on Saturday
10.30 am – 2.00 pm and 5.00 pm – 7.30 pm on Sunday

Previous experience in a similar role would be helpful, although full training will be given.

A competitive salary will be offered to the successful candidate.

Shanghai Concord Bilingual School

Shanghai Concord Bilingual School (“the School”) is the first bilingual private school in the Huangpu District, the heart of Shanghai.

The School opened its doors in September 2017 to students for Grade 6 and 10, Primary school for Grade 1 and 2 in September 2018. Currently, the School has over 500 students in total. Every year, the School enrolls students for Grades 1, 6 and 10.

The School is being developed in association with its prestigious sister school, Concord College (UK) a renowned international college whose academic excellence places it at the very top of the UK examination league tables. Concord College (UK) is lending its considerable experience and expertise in support of this venture.

The aim of the School is to create a place of learning where students can flourish in a supportive atmosphere of harmony, trust and decency; whilst committed to striving for academic excellence at every level.

The courses offered incorporate the traditional Chinese curriculum in a bilingual environment, whilst also offering students IGCSE and A levels, with the intention of preparing students for entry into the top universities throughout the world.

The School is expanding quickly. The Primary will move to a dedicated site 10 minutes walking distance from the main site of the School, before the 2020-2021 academic year. The School will have 300 pupils from Grade 1 to 4 in the 2020-2021 academic year.
