West Midlands Independent School of the Year 2025
Concord has been named West Midlands Independent School of the Year for the second year running by The Sunday Times and Parent Power Guide.
The award is a reflection of the College’s continuing academic success; last summer’s exam results at both GCSE and A Level were exceptional and show Concord as, once again, one of the top coeducational boarding schools in the country.
The Sunday Times Parent Power award for West Midlands Independent School of the Year and the accompanying tables for independent schools recognise Concord as the top coeducational option in the West Midlands.
“We are absolutely delighted to win this award for the second year in a row. Concord is unique, bringing the highest levels of academic achievement alongside a broad education outside of the classroom all within a diverse, very caring community. Our staff work hard to create an environment in which the intellectually curious and capable child can truly flourish. We were founded 75 years ago as an international school and we take the mission to bring academically enthusiastic children from across the world to study together and build understanding very seriously. Beyond their studies, our students are challenged and supported outside of the classroom, they develop into well-rounded and highly successful young people, which is why so many of them secure places to study at prestigious universities and on highly competitive courses.”
—Dr Michael Truss, Principal of Concord College
114 of last year’s A Level leavers are now studying at World Top 100 universities, including 10 at Oxford and Cambridge, 53 at “G5” universities here in the UK, and others at leading institutions internationally such as Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins, Berkeley, UCLA, USC, Hong Kong University.
