6.1 recently spent a weekend enjoying the spectacular landscape and cultural heritage of the Lake District as part of their AS level geography course 🏞
They took part in a hydrology case study of Goldrill Beck’s soft engineering river realignment project and their mountain hike in Glenridding allowed them to learn hands-on about mass movement such as freeze thaw & mudflow.
Additionally, they visited the Aira Force Waterfall, the rural settlement of Chapel Stile, the picturesque village of Grasmere and the Honister slate mine!

Last night Concord`s musicians celebrated the start of spring with a mesmerising and delightful concert.
The Spring Concert featured the orchestra, wind, strings and jazz groups, choir, band and some amazing ensembles and soloists.
Among the highlights was the premier of Kee Kiam`s composition Concertino in D minor conducted by Kee Kiam himself.
Thank you to everyone who took part and shared their talent and passion.

Our showcase event is always a highlight in the college calendar. This year the theme was `Celebrating Together` and over 250 students from different cultural societies performed various shows celebrating their cultures festival events of Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer.
As well as evening theatre performances we organised a new initiative this year which saw each cultural society deliver daytime pop-up performances in various locations around the college campus. This resulted in a week-long festival style event throughout the college which beautifully showcased the wonderful talents of our students and the cultural diversity of the college 🎉
Huge thanks to Andy and Kim from the photography club for the lovely images.
