Mr and Mrs Hawkins at the Dubai British Boarding Schools Show

Tuesday November 23, 2021

Later this month, the British Boarding Schools Show 2021 returns to Dubai – providing families living in the Gulf region unique and privileged access to Heads and educators from some of the UK’s top schools. Attending the show on the 26th and 27th November for its ninth edition are Concord’s Global Principal (Concord College International), Mr Neil Hawkins, and Assistant to Global Principal, Mrs Vanessa Hawkins. The event will mark only Concord’s third face-to-face show in the last two academic years due to restrictions caused by the pandemic, with the first marketing show taking place just last month in both Latvia and Lithuania, and more recently, the Independent Schools Show in London. Dubai parents whose children are already at school in the UK, and other international visiting parents or agents are welcome to visit Mr and Mrs Hawkins, to find out more about the Concord experience – including information on the College’s Lower School and Sixth Form, entry requirements and the admissions process, the annual Summer School programme and more. Speaking ahead of the Show, Mr Hawkins said: “We are really looking forward to attending this globally renowned event and having the opportunity to speak to individuals and groups about the wonderful Concord experience.” Mr Hawkins is also looking forward to the privilege of speaking at the event about boarding schools in the UK in general. In line with the Show’s aim of providing parents with the understanding of true values that British schooling has to offer, Mr and Mrs Hawkins will expertly explain why Concord’s values of Rigour, Kindness and Creativity are fundamental to students’ education at Concord and beyond. The Independent Schools Show team state that “the Show also comprises a diverse series of seminar talks for guests to further access in-depth analysis and discussion about the educational landscape as we move forward beyond the pandemic era.” David Wellesley Wesley, Founder of the British Boarding Schools Show said: “The changes brought about by the pandemic have posed the question as to what the future template of schooling looks like and how educational institutions can embrace technology, flexibility and bring individualised programmes into the classroom. “Character, wellbeing, group work, debate, public speaking, punctuality, honesty, self-presentation are areas of focus now and we invite parents residing in Dubai to visit the British Boarding Schools Show to navigate this new normal.” Click here to find out more about the event and to purchase tickets. Registration includes free access to all talks and seminars, for attendees who sign up in advance. With only over 25 of the most prestigious UK-based schools under one roof, come and see why Concord is regarded as England’s premier international school. Mrs Hawkins added: “We look forward to meeting prospective students and their families at the show as well as taking to opportunity to catch up with alumni in the region, who we last met up with at a Dubai Reunion in 2017.”
