A group of Form 3 students will be producing – and presenting – their own live global radio show next week. Next Monday Concord is being visited by Russell Prue, of Anderton Tiger, a company he founded to bring the ability to broadcast radio to school students. Concord's students will have a limited time to produce a complete radio show before it airs live at 2:15pm. Computer Science teacher, Mr Tim Curtis who has arranged the event said: “The students will need to draw on lots of different skills to succeed with the aim of developing their creativity, resilience and confidence.” Workshop leader, Mr Prue said: "There will be time for just one rehearsal and 15mins in which to prepare the script.  This is as real an experience as possible to that of a high pressure newsroom in a radio station." Mr Prue explained how the workshop would run: "Each group of four students will work on a show component, Opening Hosts, News, Weather, Sports, Climate Feature and Radio Play." He is looking forward to the workshop, and also the radio show itself.  "I’m expecting listeners to contribute to the live show by email and text message and help us decide on a closing song for the show." he said. So, if you are available at 2:15pm on Monday, do listen, and offer your support and join in! Listen here at 2:15pm on Monday 18th October.
