Concord Outreach Society fundraise for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity
The Concord College Outreach Society was recently visited by the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity in recognition of the £2642.35 they raised for the charity last year.
The charitable Outreach club met every Friday throughout the year and the Outreach executive team, made up of Christoph, Denise, Audrey and Pongpang, ran a series of events over the course of the year. These events included a stall at the International Food Fayre, a haunted house/escape room experience at Halloween, a stall at the Christmas Fayre, food stalls and activity stalls at the Lunar New Year celebrations, serving popcorn at the House film and selling & distributing roses on Valentine’s Day.
To recognise the student’s contribution to the charity, the words ‘Concord College Outreach 2026’ will be included in the chevrons of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s H145 helicopter, G-HMAA.
Mr Rawlinson, who led the student Outreach society:
“This proved an excellent outreach option as the Midlands Air Ambulance team were happy to become involved beyond the normal assemblies and fundraising support, by coming in to talk to the Concord medical students and running a hands-on session at the Medical Futures Conference.
We were also very pleased that this became very much a whole school charity when the monies raised by the Christmas Fayre were also added to the pot. We will be proud to see our name on the chevrons of the next helicopter!!”
One of the 6.2 students in the Concord Outreach team said:
“If I had to describe the Outreach experience in 1 word it would be exciting. Every new project we undertook was filled to the brim with amazing ideas from my peers and even better implementations. The Halloween haunted house was probably the most memorable of the bunch, in that one spooky night, we managed hundreds of people, collaborated with the different rooms and their actors to create something the entire student body could remember.
What I also found great about Outreach, is that it is a way to support charities through fun activities with your friends. Only last year we raised over £2600 for the Midlands Air Ambulance through enjoying school events and holidays.
Truly, the most wonderful thing about Outreach is how a group of people who couldn’t be more different from one another come together to make our world a better place.”
