The

Boarding Residences

Concord’s boarding accommodation is divided into 17 residences of varying size. Each residence is single sex (or the boys and girls are in separate areas with their own entrances and facilities) and has a residential Boarding Parent with other staff available to give support.  Additionally, Lower School residences have full time Boarding Assistants to ensure that the younger students are able to come home to a greater level of care. All students are accommodated in single study bedrooms, grouped together with communal facilities and social spaces, for younger students bathroom facilities are shared with a small number of others.

Returning students can indicate a preference for a particular residence and even specific rooms but these requests cannot always be satisfied. Senior Prefects and Lower School Monitors are given first choice of rooms and then ballots are conducted for returning Sixth Form students in order to attempt to find a fair way of giving students priority in selecting their preferred rooms for the next academic year.

All second year A level students are guaranteed a single en-suite study bedroom, if that is their wish.

First year A level students are accommodated in single bedrooms. We also have a boarding house situated at a local farm that has 59 single en-suite rooms in a barn conversion.  This is for boys and the owner and his sons act as Boarding Parents in this case.  All members of staff have a DBS check.
