Day students are welcome at Concord College and form an important part of the College community.
Day students can apply for entry to Form 3 (Year 9), Form 4 (Year 10) or the Sixth Form. (Please see Day Student Admissions section for further information about the application process and fee structure.)
Increasing numbers of parents from the Shropshire area are choosing Concord as their school of first choice. Reasons vary: the high academic standards, the open and friendly atmosphere, the excellent facilities and the chance to mix with students from across the globe. One Shropshire parent with three children at the College said ‘My only complaint is that I can never get my children to leave at the end of the day – they are so happy.’
Day students are warmly encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities and the life of our college community beyond the conclusion of lessons at 4 pm and also at weekends. If day students remain on campus during prep times, they are required to attend prep in the same fashion as other students. They are also expected to be in College on Saturday mornings to attend the weekly tests.
Please note: Concord operates a bus service for day students attending the College. Students are collected from the Meole Brace Retail Park in Shrewsbury, Monday to Friday at 07:50 with the return service departing from Concord at 17:50. Costs are dependent on the number of students and size of vehicle required and are currently £170 per student per term. Please contact the College for further details.
