The Concord Economics Department has hosted an Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) conference for students studying A level economics. A total of 130 sixth form students from Concord as well as 20 students from Moreton Hall, Shropshire, and 50 from Bishop Heber High School, Cheshire, attended the day long conference. The IEA organised four interactive sessions throughout the day and all the topics covered, including the economics of Brexit, were linked to the A level syllabus and given by experts in their field. They included Dr. Steve Davies and Julian Jessop of the IEA as well as Dr. Juan Castaneda with the final session devoted to careers in economics. Said Clive Webb, Head of Humanities at Concord College:  “We were delighted to have the opportunity to host the Institute of Economic Affairs sixth form conference at Concord. “The students thoroughly enjoyed attending interactive and informative lectures, covering a range of major economic issues,” he added.
