Last week Concord students studying Spanish were treated to a play based on the famous story of Don Quijote performed by the Spanish theatre company Firewalk in an event organised by the Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department.
The eighth annual Concord Fashion Show took place at the on Saturday 30th January with a professional style catwalk inside the indoor marquee in the Sports Hall with an audience of 400! The superb and very professional images of the show are provided by Mr Hudson and the Photography Club.
On Saturday 13th February 200 Concord Alumni who are attending university in the UK attended a reunion at the college. They enjoyed a drinks reception in the Main Hall, a wonderful dinner in the dining room and a fabulous party in the indoor marquee in the Sports Hall. The attendees at this event also raised over £3000 for the Anthony Morris Scholarship Foundation.
A group of Concord students enjoyed a ski trip to Italy over half term accompanied by four members of staff. From beginners to more experienced skiers the daily lessons with qualified instructors enabled everyone to improve their skills and the evenings were equally busy enjoying a fun packed après ski programme.
The Spring Concert 2016 took place on the evening of March 3rd in the Concord theatre. The first half was the final performance of the Form 5 GCSE drama group's exam piece which was an extract from the Arabian Nights (see below) and the second half was a musical potpourri featuring pieces that ranged from British folk music to Beethoven and from pop to samba. Thank you to Mr Hudson and the Photography Club for the wonderful images.
The Form 5 GCSE drama group performed their final assessed piece, Arabian nights, on Wednesday 2nd March. This lively and entertaining production was full of humour as the small cast played multiple parts in this retelling of the well known tale of Ali Baba as told by Shahrazad to King Shahrayar.
