The school caretaker has been murdered by a burglar in broad daylight! The task for detectives is to solve the crime using a variety of forensic science techniques. In this case, Form 3 students have to establish sufficient evidence to make a charge and present a case in court.
The Forensic Science Day is one of a number of activities spread over the week for 43 Form 3 students at Concord.
The students donned boiler suits to carry out forensic science investigations which included DNA, UV lighting and chromatography. They carried out checks on footprints and a letter purported to be written by the burglar.
“The day proved conclusively that the students are particularly interested in science,” said Head of Form 3 Miss Georgie Taylor who organised the activities which included a visit to Concord by forensic scientist Dr. Jon Bates.
Among the students taking part in the forensic science day were Jerry Zhao, Shivang Bajla, Louis Ireland, Hannah Kim, Emily Bowen, Arseniy Protapon and Yehia Shawkat.
