A group of BTEC music students at Concord are managing a music product as part of their second term of the course. The Form 4 students have decided that their product will be a ‘live’ charity concert ‘Stars in their Eyes’ in the college theatre on March 16.
The group has formed a production team which is not only responsible for staging the concert, but auditioning the performers. The auditioning panel for the 18 music and dance acts was Ruth Waterson, Tony Zhou, Amy Xue, and Natalie Chau.
The BTEC students are also responsible for the marketing and selling of tickets, hoping to sell over 100 £1.50 tickets to students, staff and members of the public who are invited to apply.
A poster was designed by old Angie Koo and the charity, which was chosen by Patrick Crowe is Guide Dogs.
“I wanted us to support a charity in which animals help people and Guide Dogs was the perfect fit,” said Patrick.
The charity concert is under the overall supervision of Concord College music teacher Hannah Perrins who said the production team was handling lighting, stage management and back stage.
“We are hoping that a representative of the Shrewsbury branch of Guide Dogs will attend the concert with a guide dog,” she added.
