Six Attend Careers Event

Six senior girls from Concord were lucky enough to be awarded places on the Goldman Sachs A-level Girls Programme over two days at the end of February.

Pancakes all Round!

Students and staff at Concord celebrated Pancake Day by eating pancakes and raising money for charity at the same time.

Books for Africa

Thousands of textbooks are leaving Concord on the first leg of their journey to East Africa to mark World Book Day on Thursday March 3rd. The college is donating science, mathematics, English and story books to children in Uganda and Tanzania.

O'maro wins Gold!

Talented athlete O’maro Maseli has won a national championship gold medal in the 60 metre race– despite being entered into the wrong age category.

Concord in Top 10 Again

Concord is once again ranked in the UK’s Top 10 schools by the prestigious Financial Times league table published on Saturday 26th February.

A Runaway Success!

The third annual Fashion show took place at the Concord Theatre on Saturday 12th February. This sell-out evening featured clothes made out of recycled materials on the theme ‘Love and Hate’.

Trio Of Volunteering Awards

Students from Concord were delighted to receive three awards at a special event held at Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury on February 4th to celebrate volunteering throughout the county.

Third Place for Maths Team

Concord’s senior mathematics team gained third place in the national final of the UK mathematics trust senior team maths challenge. The team of Jonathan Kwan, Owen Wang, Helen Kang and Jasper Koid narrowly missed out on the top spot.

Mace Debate Win

A pair of Concord students has won through to the next round of the UK’s oldest and most prestigious schools’ debating competition. Patricia Vlad and Shaun Kua will be representing Concord College in round two of the English Speaking Union’s (ESU) Mace Debate next month.

Poetry Please!

Concord’s Lower School students have risen to the challenge of reciting poetry to an audience in the Lower School Poetry Cup Competition.

Win for Public Speakers

A team from Concord’s Lower School has won through to the regional round of the English Speaking Union (ESU) public speaking competition next month.

Medals for Mathematicians

Three Concord students have been placed the top 50 student mathematicians in the country and have been awarded medals in this year’s British Mathematics Olympiad (BMO). 

Record Oxbridge Success

The new term has brought great news for seventeen students at Concord as they have received their eagerly awaited offers to study at Oxford and Cambridge. This is a record for the college with the greatest number of students in a single year to be offered Oxbridge places in Concord’s 62 year history.

New Labs for the New Term

Concord is delighted to announce the completion of the extension to the science block. Students in all year groups are already benefitting from more increased amounts of practical science experience following completion of three new state of the art laboratories.

New Term Begins

The new intake of 55 students arrived at Concord at the beginning of the Spring Term on January 6th.

Term Ends with Festive Cheer

The Autumn term at Concord has finished with festive cheer at the college end of term final assembly which celebrated the achievements of Concord students since September.

Win for Public Speaking Team

One of Concord’s talented public speaking teams has won the local round of a public speaking contest and will represent the college in the new year at the regional final.

Victory for Maths Team

Concord’s senior mathematics team came only one mark short of a clean sweep to win the regional final of the UK Senior Maths Team Challenge.

Christmas Concert

The fabulous end of term concerts, performed over two nights on the 18th and 19th November, were full of the wow factor and a brilliant start the Christmas festivities here at Concord.

Fun at the Fayre!

Concord’s first ever Christmas Fayre on Sunday 21st November was a great success and was generously supported by staff, students and the general public.
