Fashion Show

"The annual Concord Fashion show took place on Saturday 4th February.  This sell-out evening featured clothes designed by students studying for GCSE, AS or A level art on a theme of ‘Backwards & Forwards’. "

Living History!

"Historians in 6.1 brought their studies to life this week by dressing in clothing of the period that they are studying at AS level  this term– the 1960s! "

Happy New Year

"Concord students celebrated the Chinese New Year – the year of the Dragon - in style on January 21st. "

Oxbridge Record

"A record number of students at Concord have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge. Eighteen Concord College students from eight nationalities have offers to study ten different subjects. "

Success for Vets

"Concord is delighted that two of its senior students have been offered places to study veterinary medicine at Edinburgh, a university renowned worldwide for this type of specialist education. "

Music Finalists

"Two of Concord’s talented musicians have reached the final of the Shropshire County Concerto Competition.  Vincent Ko (6.2) and Zoe Mountford (Form 4) will be hoping to win the title of Shropshire’s Young Musician of the Year at the final to be held in March at Theatre Severn. "

Concert News

"Concord College is delighted to announce that its annual international charity concert is to be performed at Theatre Severn for the first time. ‘Music and Dance from Around the World’ is the theme of this year’s Concord College spring concert in aid of the Shropshire Federation of Women’s Institutes and Rotary charities. "

Happy New Year!

"The new intake of 63 students arrived at Concord at the beginning of the Spring Term on January 5th. After three days of induction, lessons started for all students on Monday 9th January. "

Festive Cheer!

"The Autumn term at Concord has finished with festive cheer with a staff choir singing Christmas songs at the college end of term final assembly which celebrated the achievements of Concord students since September. "

Movember Update

"Sixteen male members of staff at Concord have raised over £1,500 in their Movember charity sponsorship.  This has been through the Movember website where donations can be made online, sponsorship on the Mo-mo graph in college and also through a Prefect organised fun moustache event. "

Double Victory!

"For the second successive year, Concord’s senior public speaking team is through to the second round of the BPW (Business & Professional Women) national public speaking competition and the Rotary ‘Youth Speaks’ Competition. "

Maths Team Win!

"Congratulations to the Senior Mathematics Team who have won their regional round of the UK senior competition.  It will be the fourth consecutive year that Concord College will be in the final competing against 49 other teams from all over the UK.  Last year Concord came joint third. "

Winter Concert

"The fabulous end of term concerts, performed over two nights on the 17th and 18th November to students and guests, were a showcase for the musical, dramatic and dancing talents at Concord and also raised money for Children in Need. "

OCC Target Reached!

"Concord has exceeded its target of making up boxes for Operation Christmas Child this year. Concord’s Outreach Society delivered over 120 Christmas boxes – the target this year was 100 – to a Shrewsbury warehouse from where they will be shipped to underprivileged youngsters overseas. "

Come to the Fayre!

"Concord is to stage its second annual Christmas Fayre – with this year’s promising to be bigger and more varied. Over 30 retailers from Shrewsbury and surrounding areas will be supporting the Christmas Fayre at Concord on Sunday November 20th from 1.30pm until 4.30pm. "

Movember!

"Fifteen male teachers at Concord are grooming the finest moustachery in an attempt to raise £1,000 for men’s cancer charities. "

Halloween Fun

"On Saturday 5th November students at Concord enjoyed the annual Halloween Event complete with a mini Fun Fair, Haunted House, a fancy dress disco and to coincide with Bonfire Night a superb firework display.  With most of the activities organised by the students themselves, this ever popular evening was full of fun and a few scares! "

World Teachers' Day

"Students at Concord have presented their tutors and teachers with ‘thank you’ cards in recognition of help and guidance with their academic progress as part of World Teachers' Day. "

Inter-House Arts 2011

"Now in its third year, the Inter-House Arts Competition was eagerly anticipated  as  the four houses (Lie, Hammers, U-Thant and Waldheim)battled it out in the theatre on Sunday 23rd  October to be the next winners of the coveted House Arts Shield.   "
