Dr. Iain Bride, Chair of Trustees at Concord College, officially opened Taylor’s the new 69 bed boarding residence for Lower School girls last Sunday (May 14).
He cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the Taylor’s residence, which the girls have resided in since the start of the academic year in September and is named after one of the college’s founding Principals Monica Carr Taylor.
Said Principal Mr. Neil Hawkins: ““Boarding facilities are essential to our students, most of whom board with us for many weeks of the year. The new boarding house and on-going commitment to accommodating the vast majority of students in single rooms is very much part of our commitment to boarding.”
After a short speech from Dr. Bride, students, staff and the Lower School girls enjoyed a traditional British fayre with stalls, a coconut shy, a bouncy castle and a cream tea.
