ICT

The ICT Department is based in two well-equipped rooms each with around 20 computers connected to the College network. The department offers courses to students in the Lower School. The Form 3 students follow a general course in ICT covering many of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes including Word, Excel and Publisher.

In Forms 4 and 5 the department offers two IGCSE courses. The ICT IGCSE is studied by those students who would like to develop their skills further in being able to deploy office based software solutions to a range of scenarios in the ‘real world’ whilst also learning about the components of a computer system as well as the social and economic impact of ICT in society. The Computer Science IGCSE concentrates mainly on the technical side of computers including designing algorithms and writing code, and is therefore suited to the more mathematically-minded students.
