Economics, Geography, History, Accounting and Religious Studies (RS) are taught within the Humanities Department, which aims to deliver these subjects in interesting, varied and dynamic lessons, using a variety of teaching methodology. Our aim is to challenge students in order for them to gain a high level of understanding of these subjects, within an enjoyable academic environment.
Humanities teachers are extremely enthusiastic about their subjects. All subjects are taught in rooms that contain network-linked interactive whiteboards. Outside lessons students have access to additional resources via the departmental pages on the college intranet and VLE. Subject interest is also fostered via strong links to enrichment activities, as well as internal and external competition entry. Inter-subject skill development and student progression is aided by the Humanities teachers working together within the faculty, and the department has a strong tradition of providing individual help to students outside normal lessons.
