ASSISTANT BURSAR (FINANCE & OPERATIONS)

The Assistant Bursar (Finance & Operations) will be involved in financial management, estate management, IT and communications within the College and will also be the College’s Data Protection Officer.  The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a sound understanding of operational and financial management procedures and must have recognised qualifications in accounting and facilities management.  Strong leadership skills and business management experience, ideally in an education setting, are also essential to the post.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the future success of Concord College.

Salary is negotiable, dependent on qualifications and experience.

ACCOUNTS ASSISTANTS

We are currently recruiting for Accounts Assistants within our Accounts Department.  We require skilled and experienced accounts practitioners, preferably qualified to AAT level 3/4, with transferable skills to quickly adapt to our financial systems. Proven attention to detail, use of Excel to advanced level and the ability to work to tight deadlines in a busy environment are essential requirements.

Hours of work will be 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.

TRIPS & ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR

We are looking for a highly organised administrator with good interpersonal skills and excellent IT skills.  The role involves researching, arranging and coordinating travel, transportation and accommodation for student educational and cultural overseas trips and UK residential trips and activities including Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, field study trips and outdoor educational activities. Previous experience in a similar role or of working in the travel industry would be desirable.

PART-TIME DINING ROOM ASSISTANTS

We are recruiting for part-time Dining Room Assistants and have a number of shifts available:  5.15pm – 8pm Monday to Friday, 9am – 2pm and 5pm – 7pm on Saturdays and 10.30am – 2pm and 5pm – 7.30pm on Sundays.  Previous experience in a similar role would be helpful, although full training will be given.

A competitive salary will be offered to the successful candidate.

TEACHING VACANCIES

TEACHER OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

Academic achievement at Concord College is exceptional.  During 2018, students achieved 87% 7-9 (A*/A) at GCSE and 81% A*/A at A level.  We are also delighted that 111 students have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge over the last five years.

We wish to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic full-time Teacher of Computer Science from September 2019.

The successful candidate will be capable of teaching Computer Science to IGCSE level and the ability to also teach Computer Science to A level is desirable.  A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the college is expected.  Applications from newly qualified teachers will be considered.

We offer a generous remuneration package which includes a salary significantly above Main Scale, a personal tutor allowance, duty payments, free meals, Teachers’ Pensions and private health insurance.

Shanghai Concord Bilingual School

Shanghai Concord Bilingual School first opened its doors to students in September 2017. The school is being developed in association with its prestigious sister school, Concord College (UK) a renowned international college whose academic excellence places it at the very top of the UK examination league tables. Concord College (UK) is lending its considerable experience and expertise in support of this new venture.

The aim of Shanghai Concord is to create a place of learning where students can flourish in a supportive atmosphere of harmony, trust and decency, whilst committed to striving for academic excellence at every level.

Initially the college recruited students in Grade 6 (age 11) and Grade 10 (age 15) and will grow each year to eventually include all years from 6 to 12 (age 11 to 18).

In September 2018 the school will also be opening a Primary Department and is aiming to recruit students into Grades 1 and 2 in the first instance.  The courses offered will incorporate the traditional Chinese curriculum in a bilingual environment, whilst also offering students IGCSE and A levels, with the intention of preparing students for entry into the top universities throughout the world.
