PASTRY CHEF

We are seeking a full-time Pastry Chef to join our large and experienced team of Chefs who provide high quality cuisine in our busy catering department.  Experience of producing high volume, high quality desserts, pastries and cakes will be essential for this post, together with sound knowledge of food hygiene regulations and food production related health and safety. Hours of work will be 35 per week on rota between 7.00am – 7.00pm to provide cover 7 days per week.  Interviews for this post will include practical cooking tests to demonstrate ability. A competitive salary will be offered, dependent on qualifications and experience.

DINING ROOM ASSISTANTS

We are seeking both full-time and part-time Dining Room Assistants to join our existing team who provide breakfast, lunch and supper service in our dining halls, plus morning and afternoon refreshments.  Our service is efficient and vibrant in this busy environment, with lots of interaction between the front of house team and the chefs.  Working hours for the full-time position will be 35 per week with shifts on a rota basis to provide service 7 days per week. We also have a number of part-time shifts available: 5.15pm – 8pm Monday to Friday, 9am – 2pm and 5pm – 7pm on Saturdays and 10.30am – 2pm and 5pm – 7.30pm on Sundays.  Previous experience in a similar role would be helpful, although not absolutely necessary; full training will be given. The ability to deliver a service to a high standard will be essential.

TEACHING VACANCIES

Academic achievement at Concord College has been described as ‘exceptional’ (ISI 2013).  Over the last two academic years, students have achieved an average of 82% A*/A at GCSE and 80% A*/A at A level.  We are also delighted that over 80 students have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge between 2015 and 2018.

Following an increase in student numbers we wish to appoint the following teaching posts from September 2018:

TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS

The successful candidate will have a high quality degree in a Mathematics-related subject and must be capable of teaching Mathematics from GCSE through to A level and be confident supporting Oxbridge candidates.  The ability to teach Computer Science to GCSE level would be an advantage.  A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the college is expected.

We offer a generous remuneration package which includes a salary significantly above Main Scale, a personal tutor allowance, duty payments, free meals, Teachers’ Pensions and private health insurance.

The successful candidate will have a high quality degree in Computer Science or a Mathematics-related subject and must be capable of teaching Computer Science expertly and confidently to all age groups from 13-18 and Mathematics to IGCSE level. The ability to teach Mathematics to A level would be an advantage.  A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the college is expected.

Shanghai Concord Bilingual School

Shanghai Concord Bilingual School first opened its doors to students in September 2017. The school is being developed in association with its prestigious sister school, Concord College (UK) a renowned international college whose academic excellence places it at the very top of the UK examination league tables. Concord College (UK) is lending its considerable experience and expertise in support of this new venture.

The aim of Shanghai Concord is to create a place of learning where students can flourish in a supportive atmosphere of harmony, trust and decency, whilst committed to striving for academic excellence at every level.

Initially the college recruited students in Grade 6 (age 11) and Grade 10 (age 15) and will grow each year to eventually include all years from 6 to 12 (age 11 to 18).

In September 2018 the school will also be opening a Primary Department and is aiming to recruit students into Grades 1 and 2 in the first instance.  The courses offered will incorporate the traditional Chinese curriculum in a bilingual environment, whilst also offering students IGCSE and A levels, with the intention of preparing students for entry into the top universities throughout the world.

Requirements:

  • a high quality degree with Mathematics as the sole or significant focus.

  • ability and proven commitment to being an excellent classroom teacher.
  • excellent administrative, organisational and ICT skills.
  • experience of SIMs, data management and timetabling would be an advantage.
